Marny Tzuf-Bar with Gold medal in 40+ competition
600 tennis players from all over the world and 120 players from Israel participated in the biggest Maccabia games ever. Carmel Tennis club's own Marny Tzuf-Bar gave an impressive performance. Recovering from a painful loss in her first qualifying match, and a huge amount of pressure, Marny gathered herself and came back to win 
​an impressive ​

 straight matches in the 40+ category. 

Marny has been training intensively at the Carmel Tennis Club in Haifa with club pro and former Israeli youth champion, Dan

 Lefler, together with her regular club partners and frequent competitions in Israel for getting her to this level. In addition to playing singles, Marny plays a lot of doubles at the club which improv
​ed​
 her net game.  Marny 
​​
beat players from 
​Argentina along the way and Romina Skliarsky, also from Argentina for the final.

The Carmel Tennis Club joins all Israelis and Jews from around the world in congratulating these fine amateur athletes who put themselves into such a high-profile competition and set such a great example for all of us. 

Located in the green Carmel region of Haifa, the Carmel Tennis Club was founded during British Mandate Palestine, and is the Israel's oldest and arguably its nicest tennis club. The club welcomes new members.
